Rebecca Strife is the daughter of a blacksmith, who managed a shop in Corvis with his wife.
Her parents weren’t rich, but she had some happy young years. When she was old enough, she joined the Cygnaran Navy to become an officer and Captain of her own ship.
Her first 2 years of Military service she only helped in the caboose and scrubbed the deck, but one day, when her ship was on a maneuver, it was attacked by Cryxian Pirates. They were low on crew and everyone was fighting with whatever they had.
There they realised Rebeccas natural Talent for Pistols and somehow she and her crewmates managed to stike the pirates back and escaped into the safety of a cygnaran harbor. She was promoted to a full fledged crewmember by the captain and Rebecca began her way up the Ranks.
Many years later she was finally a leutenant and second-in-command of the “Seabird”, a cygnaran warship. By that time, her parents moved from Corvis to Caspia to work for the train industry and lived there since then. But Rebecca wished more, she wanted to become the Captain of her own ship and one day she got her chance. Her captain was away with a small group of her crew hunting his nemesis through the dense forrest of a small nameless island, as they came under attack of the pirate ship of her captains Nemesis. If she managed to seize the ship, it would be added to the cygnaran fleet and would be in need of a captain. And who would be better for this job other than the leutenant, which won the ship for Cygnar?
The boarding action was hard and Rebecca was seriously injured in the fight, but with her last bit of strengh she led her men to victory.
Unfortunately, when she returned to the Navy headquarters with a new ship for the fleet, her superiors decided, that her injuries wouldn’t allow her to lead a ship into battle for some time.
So Rebecca gained a new position in the administration, where she soon realised, that she won’t return to the active service, even though her wound had already been healed.
Because she didn’t wanted to spent the rest of her life, sitting behind a desk and managing food an ammunition without seeing the heat of battle again, she saved up all her guerdon for the remaining years she vowed to serve the military to start her own mercenary buisness.
And when the day arrived, she left the forces of cygnar and returned to her old hometown Corvis. There she found an Arcane Order, which was high in debt and in need of an investor. Her savings were just enough to even most of their debts and to become in some kind of way the inofficial owner of them.
